The DuPage County Woodridge-Greene Valley Plant is the largest of three DuPage County-owned wastewater treatment facilities. It is designed to clean 12 million gallons per day of wastewater. The Knollwood plant is among the other facilities.
Four final clarifiers at the DuPage County Greene Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant and four at the Knollwood plant had exceeded their useful life and required either replacement of all mechanisms or rehabilitation. Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. (Milhouse) performed condition assessments and concluded significant savings could be realized by rehabilitation of the clarifiers, including the replacement of major elements.
Milhouse provided design and construction management services for the rehabilitation of the eight 110 foot diameter clarifiers.
