Milhouse Engineering and Construction is seeking a full-time candidate with experience in the commissioning and testing of Substation Equipment for our Field Services Group. The candidate is responsible for the testing/commissioning of power equipment including but not limited to transformers, circuit breakers, reclosers, relays, CCVT's, CTs, relays, and cables with minimal supervision.
The Section Lead Engineer is responsible for the profitability, quality, and schedule of substation design projects. They will lead a design team of engineers and designers and assist in design activities. The section Lead Engineer will coordinate all design activities of the project team, interface with key cross-functional groups (PM, CAD, Accounting, etc.), and report project status to management.
Performs mid to high level complexity design and project management on a large variety of projects acting as lead or support resource for prime and sub consultant work. Typical design work includes low, medium and high voltage power distribution systems, motor control circuits, raceway systems, fire alarm systems, underground utility plans and profiles, interior and outdoor lighting systems, cathodic protection systems, panel board and apparatus schedules and interfacing with utility companies. Transit experience preferred but not required.
Scaffolding, concrete drilling, anchor bolt layout/installation, setting precast planks, concrete slabs and foundations, and temporary walls/fences. Infrastructure or commercial construction background preferred. This initial project on Metro facilities runs 18 months.
Program Liaison with Participants, Attend Homeowner Briefings to assist in signing in attendees, collecting applications and distributing participant information folders (briefings are held in the evening). Prepare participant master list containing names, addresses, and home/work telephone numbers. Assign a file ID to be used in the Design Team’s computer files. Conduct title searches to verify participants are the owners of the properties.
