2nd Annual Milhouse Family Picnic is a HUGE Success!
In spite of dire weather predictions for severe thunderstorms and hail, Saturday, June 22 turned out to be a beautiful day for the second annual Milhouse Family Picnic! Well over 300 people registered to enjoy a day of barbeque, good friends, family and fun with warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine. The kids had obstacle courses, bubble machines, monster-sized inflatable houses and a huge picnic grove in which to run and play.
Color-coded teams were assembled based on business groups or divisions: Red for Gas and Power, Navy for Business Operations and the Project Development Group, Lime Green for Environmental Services, Purple for Civil and Orange for Program Management and Construction Management.
Other games included Football, Volleyball, Softball and Frisbee. As the stretch of beautiful weather continued through the afternoon, the elimination challenges to determine the winner of the Milhouse Cup were underway. Challenges included a jumbo inflated Joust, with participants trying to knock their opponents off a padded perch using huge, padded batons. Afterwards came the pie-eating contest and sack races. The evening culminated with a rousing game of Tug of War. Ultimately, Orange was the last team standing, and winners of the Milhouse Cup for 2019.
A special THANK YOU to everyone that worked hard to make this day a huge success. Congratulations Orange team!
