Wilbur: DuSable Board of Trustees

Wilbur C. Milhouse III is now among an elite group of 2017 DuSable Museum of African-American History Board of Trustee members. Wilbur has been a staunch supporter of the DuSable Museum. In 2016, Milhouse Engineering & Construction performed construction services on the beloved cultural institution’s floors and doors.

As the Founder, President and CEO of Milhouse, Wilbur has created a full-service engineering and architecture firm serving both the public and private sectors. With a stellar reputation in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Structural Engineering, our firm focuses on improving the communities we serve.

Wilbur joins other selected Board members, including Chancelor “Chance the Rapper” Bennett; Dr. Eric Whittaker, a prominent, Chicago-based physician and entrepreneur; and Chance’s father, Ken Bennett, a former Obama Administration aide and current Senior Advisor of Policy and Community Affairs at Choose Chicago.

Founded in 1961 by teacher and art historian Dr. Margaret Burroughs, the DuSable Museum was developed to preserve and interpret experiences and achievements of people of African descent. The Museum is dedicated to the collection, documentation, preservation and study of the history and culture of Africans and African Americans. The DuSable Museum is proud of its diverse holdings that number more than 15,000 pieces and include paintings, sculpture, print works and historical memorabilia.

The museum is located at 740 E. 56th Place (57th Street and South Cottage Grove Avenue) in Washington Park.
