Milhouse is providing construction engineering and design engineering services for the construction of the new South Terminal and rehabilitation of the existing North Terminal for the CTA’s Redline Station at 95th Street located in the center median of the Dan Ryan (I-94/I-57) at 95th Street. The project includes design of the station, platforms, track, communications, train signalization, traction power, electric power, lighting, bridges, and civil site work.
Milhouse and F.H. Paschen formed a Joint Venture and were awarded the construction contract in November, 2015. The Paschen-Milhouse Joint Venture contracted with exp as Project Architect to complete the design documents. Milhouse is also providing structural and civil engineering design services.
Design engineering services include structural engineering services for the new South Bus Bridge, widening of the 95th Street Bridge, and the rehabilitation of the North Bus Bridge, each spanning over the Dan Ryan and CTA tracks. Additional structural engineering design services include three cast-in-place retaining walls, and analysis and details required to connect proposed Terminal barrier walls and pavement to the existing retaining walls along the outside lanes of the Dan Ryan. Civil design engineering services include design of East and West Bus Lanes for each Terminal Building, stormwater detention, storm sewer, directional boring water and sewer services, conventional water and sewer service, gas service, telecommunication service, roadway restoration, maintenance of traffic, construction phasing, pavement marking and signage, and construction specifications.
The North Terminal Station will remain in open during the construction of the South Terminal, and will provide service for north and south bound trains. Once the South Terminal is constructed, train operations will be moved to the new South Terminal which will be in operation while the North Terminal is rehabilitated and expanded. Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2018.
