Milhouse Recognized in ENR Midwest Region Best Projects Awards

Milhouse is pleased to be recognized as an ENR Midwest Region Best Project Award recipient. It brings our staff great joy to have received the Award of Merit in Highways/Bridges for our work on the Adams Street Bridge Rehabilitation project.

In partnership with Walsh Construction, Milhouse’s work included rehabilitation of the S-girder and live load bearings, and the replacement of the west leaf’s longitudinal girder supporting the trunnion. Built in 1927the bridge supports the traffic of over 40,000 people and 20,000 cars and buses per day and was in need of restoration.

Our team executed a complex procedure to temporarily support the leaf and replace the entire longitudinal girder, with the ability to raise and lower the leaves without motors.
