Wilbur C. Milhouse III is the Chairman and CEO of Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. (Milhouse). A licensed Professional Engineer with more than 30 years of civil and structural engineering experience, Wilbur is an entrepreneur who has grown a Chicago startup into the Milhouse family of seven companies with more than 400 team members nationwide.
He founded Milhouse in 2001 with a vision: build a firm that delivers exceptional work and has a positive impact on people and communities. Today, the enterprise provides civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering services, along with construction, program management, and vegetation management—supporting essential infrastructure across utilities, transportation, aviation, and facilities.
Wilbur fiercely supports his community and the engineering profession through extensive involvement in civic, charitable, and professional organizations. In 2012, he co-founded Milhouse Charities, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding academic achievement and opportunity for underrepresented youth and minorities through STEM programs. Since its founding, Milhouse Charities has invested more than $1 million and contributed 13,000 hours of hands-on community service.
A proud graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, he earned an M.S. in Structural Engineering and a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering. He holds Professional Engineering licenses in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, Massachusetts, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, and Washington, D.C.
