Challenge: Perform pavement condition assessments for United Airlines hubs across the U.S. and identify action plans to preserve and improve pavement facilities.
Solution: Completion of six surveys accurately identifying pavement distresses, and development of six assessment reports outlining plans to preserve and prolong life of existing pavements, identify pavement improvement projects, and provide cost estimates of proposed improvements.
Pavement assessments were conducted at the following United Airlines hubs:
» Denver International Airport (DEN)
» Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
» George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)
» Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
» O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
» San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
Milhouse performed surveys at 4 of the 6 aiports, including EWR, IAH, ORD, and SFO, and worked on all 6 of the pavement assessment reports. Surveys covered approximately 15,000,000 square feet of pavement among the six airports, including airside and landside pavements, and were conducted with limited impacts to United and airport operations.
