Challenge: Short turnaround time–Milhouse was given 2.5 months to revise over 1300 drawings.
Solution: Organization on the sequence of drawings to be checked.
Result: All deliverables were completed and reviewed on time, and the Lead Engineer on Controls
received a certificate of recognition for the excellent work.
This was one of the most significant projects ever attempted by the Milhouse team and the first time PSEG team designed an entirely inhouse GIS project of this magnitude from start to finish, mostly completed throughout the pandemic.
The project consisted of designing a complete new 69kV GIS Substation (14th St. Substation), which will contain 5 bays, 5 transformers, a capacitor bank, prevision for a mobile transformer, a 26kV switchgear, and connection to 4-line positions (3 existing, 1 for future).
Milhouse was the Owner’s Engineer for PSE&G responsible for detailed revision on all drawings, verification of consistency between drawings, and technical design
