Milhouse is part of the design team for the new 39K Hangar at Gary/Chicago International Airport. The scope of work includes coordinating the incoming utilities up to five feet from the building, including domestic water, fire protection, sanitary sewer, electrical power, network communications, and natural gas.
Milhouse and the project team will undergo a fast-paced development of design.
The Schematic Design submission will intend to establish the preliminary design for all project components using drawings, lists of assumptions, initial cost estimates, and project schedules.
The Detailed Design submission will demonstrate that the engineering approach reflects a thorough understanding of the design task. The proposed engineering concept will be sufficiently developed at this stage to indicate how the project’s operation, construction, and procurement phasing challenges will be addressed.
Development of the Construction Documents begins with incorporating all review comments and identified action items from the previous design development phase. A complete package will be submitted, allowing the permit application process to begin.
The final Construction Document submittal will represent a complete, coordinated, and biddable set of documents for the procurement and construction of the project. This scope of work ends when the bid package is delivered.
