Milhouse founder honored with prestigious national recognition for leadership and contributions to the construction industry

CHICAGO, IL (November 19, 2025) — Wilbur C. Milhouse III, Chairman and CEO of Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. (Milhouse), has been elected to the National Academy of Construction (NAC). 

One of the highest professional honors in the engineering and construction industries, election to the NAC is given to leaders who have made significant contributions to improving the effectiveness of the construction industry. Members are recognized by their peers for leadership in technology, safety, project delivery, education, and industry relationships.  

Since founding Milhouse in 2001, Mr. Milhouse has grown the firm from a civil engineering startup into an award-winning, nationally recognized family of companies operating across nine industry sectors. In 2005, he launched Milhouse Construction, the enterprise’s construction arm. What began with a carpentry division has grown into an independent general contractor delivering projects that revitalize neighborhoods, support critical infrastructure, and create pathways into skilled careers.

Mr. Milhouse is one of 37 members selected for induction into the NAC Class of 2025. 

Beyond honoring individual achievement, the NAC provides guidance to public and private organizations on advancing the industry’s safety, sustainability, workforce development, and long-term effectiveness. Members collaborate to address challenges, share expertise, and help develop the next generation of industry leaders.
