Dolla Dawson Named a 2022 ‘Notable Black Leader and Executive’ by Crain’s Chicago Business 

Chief Operating Officer of Business Operations at Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. recognized as an exceptional leader in the Chicagoland area 

CHICAGO, IL (October 7, 2022) – Crain’s Chicago Business has named Dolla Dawson to its list of Notable Black Leaders and Executives 2022. This list recognizes high-performing leaders in Chicago who have made a difference professionally, philanthropically and personally for the Black community.  

Since joining Milhouse in 2007, Dolla has been instrumental in the rapid growth of the organization. As Chief Operating Officer of Business Operations, Dolla is responsible for aligning the organization’s strategic vision, cascading it to all team members, and steering the firm’s core business functions. Her success is evident in Milhouse’s year-over-year increase in revenue growth and a 49% increase in headcount over the last 18 months. 

Outside of work, Dolla contributes to elevating the Black community in Chicago through her mentorship, providing career opportunities and philanthropy. Dolla serves on the board of Milhouse Charities, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to advancing the exposure and advancement of underrepresented youth in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Additionally, she works on the Polished Pebbles Pink Hard Hat Project, an initiative that addresses the workforce needs of Chicago’s African American and Latina girls and the existing barriers to girls and women of color in the trades, manufacturing and construction industries.
