Chicago, IL (June 2, 2025) – Executive Director of Milhouse Charities, Dr. Dawn Milhouse, has been named a Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Leader in Philanthropy. She is recognized for her unwavering dedication to children, families, and communities, leading through faith, service, and sustainable, purpose-driven partnerships. 

At the heart of Dr. Milhouse’s mission is her belief in The Power of One—that a single act, decision, or moment can transform generations. For over twenty years, she has lived that belief, investing deeply in communities across Chicago and every city touched by the Milhouse Family of Companies. 

“We believe in building partnerships and investing in every community where we earn,” said Dr. Milhouse. “It’s about casting a wider, more intentional net that uplifts, includes, and empowers.”

Through Milhouse Charities, Dr. Milhouse has led initiatives from building water wells in Enugu, Nigeria, providing shoes to children in Ghana, mobilizing volunteers locally, and introducing girls to engineering in Atlanta. 

Through partnerships with iCan Girls in Engineering Atlanta, Project SYNCERE, Girls 4 Science, and the Aerostar Avion Institute—and her board leadership with Polished Pebbles and Chi Gives Back, Dr. Milhouse continues to be a driving force for equity, empowerment, and opportunity.
