Milhouse International Meets With SENELEC CEO in Senegal
On Wednesday December 11th, Milhouse International met with M. Papa Madembe Biteye, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of SENELEC in Dakar, Senegal. Initial meetings were very positive with a number of current power generation and transmission projects under discussion. SENELEC is the sole operator in charge of generation, distribution and transmission of electricity across the country, and is keenly focused on delivering power to their customers at the lowest possible price. Currently, the cost of electricity in Senegal is among the highest in the world. Availability of energy in sufficient quantity and quality can significantly cut household electrical bills.
Senegal’s MSGBC basin is home to several recent high-profile oil and gas discoveries and the country is positioning itself as a key player in the oil and natural gas industry. Given Milhouse’s extensive expertise in gas storage, transmission and distribution, we see an opportunity to play a vital role in the design and installation of Senegal’s natural gas infrastructure, helping to drastically lower the cost of energy for its citizens.
