CHICAGO, IL (September 5, 2023) – Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. proudly announces that Myesha McClendon, our vice president of aviation, has been named a ‘Notable Woman in STEM’ by Crain’s Chicago Business. This recognition highlights McClendon’s outstanding achievements and leadership within the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and reflects her unwavering commitment to driving innovation and positive change within those disciplines.

With over 18 years of experience in electrical engineering, McClendon has consistently demonstrated her ability to manage complex projects with a performance-driven approach. Her expertise spans across a wide spectrum, encompassing design, construction, budget management, scheduling, site supervision, and quality assurance/control. Her dynamic and collaborative approach to working with multiple project teams has resulted in the successful management of multi-million-dollar projects for both government and private clients.

Besides her professional achievements, McClendon’s commitment to community engagement and mentorship is remarkable. She serves as a co-coordinator for the Chicago Chapter of MATHCOUNTS, a program that nurtures future STEM talents among middle school students. Adding to her list of accomplishments, Myesha serves as the vice president of programs for the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) Chicago Chapter. AMAC is at the forefront of representing a diverse membership that includes airports, corporations, minority and women-owned businesses, disadvantaged business enterprises, and professionals within the aviation and aerospace industries. Myesha’s involvement with AMAC further highlights her commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in these crucial sectors.

“At Milhouse, we are committed to excellence and innovation within the STEM community,” said McClendon. “I am incredibly proud to be named a ‘Notable Woman in STEM’ alongside other influential women.
