Milhouse is providing architectural, structural and civil engineering services, as well as environmental services and construction administration services for the decommissioning / demolition of the Cook County Department of Corrections Division I and Division IA buildings located at 2700 South California Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
The demolition of both buildings will take in the rerouting of existing utilities serving these buildings, as the utilities tie into a utility loop which serves other buildings within this complex.
The land which will remain once Divisions 1 and 1A have been removed, will become a recreational area for the use of detainees.
Upgrades will also be made to the existing security communications and surveillance systems serving this area of the jail complex.
