Milhouse provided environmental compliance support services for a new operating coal mine in Nigeria and training materials for use by on-site personnel.
Milhouse developed an Environmental Protection and Rehabilitation Plan (ERRP) – Field Compliance Manual to aid in the daily monitoring of water quality, dust concentrations, and noise for compliance with the Ministry-issued mining permit.
Daily water quality measurement activities identified changes in pH that allowed the owner to preemptively institute some engineering solutions to retain the runoff and allow the pH to be buffered before being discharged. Potential fines for non-compliance were avoided.
