Serving Garfield Ridge Station

Challenge:  Low Pressure Point within a MP System
Solution:  Brand new station to help support system feed
Result:  Improved System Capacity with a station supporting client’s needs

Milhouse operated as the primary consultant for PGL’s new Garfield Ridge Station in Chicago, IL.  Design involved tapping a 42” high pressure pipeline with an MAOP of 514 psig to make inlet connection to the brand-new regulator station which reduced the pressure down to distribute at 25 psig. Milhouse coordinated with sub consultant to propose dual run 6” operator and monitor ball valve regulators, overall station layout, security fencing, buildings, and heater required for the station.  Design portions included the electrical and communications required for site to operate.  Milhouse also worked with the project team to design the structural foundations for all equipment within the proposed station.  Milhouse was responsible for setting up and running weekly meetings with client to provide updates to all stakeholders involved.
