O’Hare Terminal 5 Expansion/Parking Garage

Milhouse is providing planning, design services, and construction administration for the landside improvements of Terminal 5, including complete filed investigations, conceptual design, final design, construction documents, and construction phase services.

The project includes a new 2,600-space parking garage (expandable to 4,000 spaces) and the associated roadway and infrastructure improvements, including a relocation package for the design of the elevated roadways to rebalance lane capacity. The work prepares for the future expansion of a pedestrian bridge connecting the garage to the upper level of the existing terminal and a hotel.

Additional improvements to the T5 landside will support passenger growth. The entry roadway will be restriped to create dedicated lanes for arrivals and departures, and a center lane that creates access to either level. The exit roadway at the intersection Restriping the exit roadway will provide two lanes to I-190 (expanding it from one lane), and an additional lane will be added to the I-190 on-ramp at Terminal 5.
