South Deicing Facility Design-Bid-Build- Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

An exciting design-bid-build project for a new deicing facility at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International
Airport.

The new deicing facility provides a more efficient system to address inclement winter weather conditions. In the absence of winter conditions, the facility’s ramp is used for additional plane parking.

Milhouse performed the following scope of work on the project:

Design

  • Provided demolition drawings for the existing taxiways, aprons, and roads
  • Provided pavement marking engineering services utilizing FAA AC 150/5340-1L and DOA standards to design the apron, taxiway, and taxilane markings
  • Utilized FAA AC 150/5300-14C Design of Aircraft Deicing Facilities for the design of deicing pad
    markings

  • Prepared drawings, specifications, and other contract documents

Bid/Award Services

  • Provided construction administration support for submittal review, RFI responses, and construction plan revisions
