Dr. Dawn Milhouse is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Milhouse Charities, the 501(c)(3) heart of the Milhouse Family of Companies. She is passionate about advancing underrepresented youth and minorities in STEM, with a focus on creating access, expanding exposure, and building pathways that lead to opportunity. With more than 30 years of nonprofit leadership, Dr. Milhouse builds meaningful partnerships with organizations advancing equity in engineering and STEM, while investing in the next generation of leaders.
Through her servant leadership, Milhouse Charities, alongside Milhouse team members and community partners, has contributed over 13,000 hours of hands-on service since its founding in 2012, demonstrating a commitment not just to service but to lasting impact. This work is strengthened through strategic partnerships, including collaborations with Georgia Power, Atlanta Gas Light, and Southern Company Gas, helping to expand access and create real pathways into engineering, energy, and construction careers.
Dr. Milhouse holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Columbia College Chicago. She serves on the Executive Board of The Polished Pebbles Girls Mentoring Program, the advisory board of Chi Gives Back and Girls 4 Science, and the steering committee for the iCan Girls in Engineering Georgia initiative. Her work has earned her notable recognition, including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Leader in Philanthropy, Notable Black Leader, and Crain’s Notable Leader in Community Development honors, reflecting a life and leadership rooted in purpose, service, and impact.
