Milhouse Services Shifts Focus to Vegetation Management for Utility and Transportation Clients 

The strategic repositioning of a Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. subsidiary better aligns with the firm’s expertise in improving infrastructure reliability. 

CHICAGO, IL (September 25, 2024) — Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. (Milhouse), announces a strategic realignment of its subsidiary, Milhouse Services, to further strengthen the enterprise’s leadership in the critical infrastructure industries. As part of this transition, Milhouse Services will shift away from snow removal and landscaping, refocusing on vegetation management solutions for the utility and transportation sectors. 

“Our decision to realign Milhouse Services reflects our commitment to focusing on the services that matter most to our clients and communities,” said chairman and CEO Wilbur Milhouse III. “By concentrating on vegetation management, we’re better positioned to deliver high-quality services that help our clients maintain safe, reliable infrastructure.”  

This transition is not Milhouse’s first foray into vegetation management. Founded in 2021, sister company Milhouse Forestry provides line clearance and other vegetation management services to power utilities in the Southeast. Now, Milhouse Services will offer similar vegetation management solutions to transportation and utility clients across the Midwest. These services are critical for improving infrastructure reliability and preventing service disruptions caused by vegetation interference.  

As part of this transition, Malki Brown, the former vice president of Milhouse Services, will be leaving the Milhouse enterprise to start his own landscaping and snow removal company. Milhouse has encouraged its existing non-infrastructure snow and landscaping clients to continue their relationship with Mr. Brown’s new venture, confident in his ability to provide seamless service.  

“Malki’s entrepreneurial journey makes me incredibly proud,” said Mr. Milhouse. “His time leading Milhouse Services has prepared him to take this exciting next step, and it’s especially rewarding to see another Black entrepreneur emerge from Milhouse and pursue their own dream.”  

Moving forward, Cory White will continue to lead Milhouse Services as Chief Operating Officer of Production and Delivery, overseeing the company’s vegetation management services and other offerings.
