Dawn Milhouse Named a Notable Leader in Community Development

Executive Director and Co-Founder of Milhouse Charities has been recognized as a philanthropic leader in Chicagoland  

CHICAGO, IL (August 22, 2022) – Crain’s Chicago Business has named Dawn Milhouse to its list of Notable Leaders in Community Development. This list honors those that have made a difference in improving underserved and underinvested communities in Chicago and the surrounding area. 

With 30 years of experience in giving back to the community, Dawn is a philanthropic professional who is responsible for building relationships with STEM and service-based community partners, recruiting volunteers, prioritizing and allocating resources to meet business targets, and aligning the philanthropic vision with organizational strategy. 

In the 10 years since Milhouse Charities was founded, the organization has donated nearly $1,000,000 and completed 7,000 hours of hands-on community service to STEM, resource, and mentorship programs. Dawn also serves on the board for the Polished Pebbles Girls Mentoring Program and as an advisory board member for Project H.O.O.D. Milhouse Charities supports the Milhouse family of companies’ culture of service by encouraging all team members to immerse themselves in community-based initiatives in Chicago, Indiana, Atlanta, New York, Washington D.C. and Nigeria.
