Jardine Purification Plant

Milhouse provided construction engineering services for the Chicago Department of Water Management at the Jardine Water Purification Plant.

This $10 million project included furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment required to demolish the existing dehumidification system and install a new dehumidification system. This project also encompassed the demolition of the existing ventilation system and installation of a new system in the Filter Galleries and Main Gallery of the Jardine Water Purification Plant. The new dehumidification system consisted of 16 conditioners, 3 concentrators, associated desiccant, service water and steam piping, electrical conduit and controls, air handling equipment, ductwork, fans, concrete equipment pads, and all appurtenant and collateral work.

Milhouse provided construction engineering services which included observing and document the quality conformance and progress of all services rendered as well as verifying construction compliance with environmental requirement and providing Inspector Daily Reports. Additional project duties included verifying on site quantities, logging all submittals, evaluating change order, documenting job site activities and reviewing contractor change orders and requests for information while ensuring timely replies.

Milhouse also assisted the Resident Engineer and advised the construction contractor of work not in compliance with the contract documents. Our services included attending pre-bid meeting, pre-construction meetin, and weekly construction meetings, assisting the construction contractor with obtaining necessary permits, and inspecting all work and materials delivered.
