Taxiway “V” Bypass Design and Construction- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

The Taxiway “V” Bypass design project will enable access to ramp 1N and reduce operational impacts on taxiway “V” during construction on the Concourse T North Extension. The proposed bypass will provide a new alignment for taxiing aircraft and prevent closures of taxiway “V.”

The project scope includes these major components:

  • Geometric design – based upon Taxiway Victor Bypass Project Definition Report and pavement areas in the vicinity of this project as identified by the Taxiway Pavement Replacement 2019 project
  • Drainage modifications – modification to the existing storm water systems in the adjacent infield area of taxiways “F” and “E”
  • Airfield electrical improvement – extend casing of an existing 16-inch fuel line located beneath proposed bypass taxiway
  • Pavement sections – pavement sections to be designed/constructed utilizing the DOA standard pavement section
  • Construction phasing

Milhouse Engineering & Construction, Inc. was responsible for the following planning/design details:

  • Airfield electrical quality assurance – reviewing airfield electrical design, participating in stop & plots and Bluebeam sessions, and maintaining documentation of review
  • Airfield support – demolition plans/details and airfield marking plans/details
