Milhouse provided engineering services to perform detailed large diameter pipeline design for AGL’s High Point to Bremen Pressure Improvement PH1 & PH2 project in Douglas and Carroll Counties in Georgia.
The project involved approximately 7.6 miles of 12” and 5.3 miles of 8” steel pipeline with an MAOP of 300 psig which tied in to separate regulator stations. Milhouse created detailed alignment sheets as well as mechanical plans within a very narrow right of way with numerous utilities. Milhouse’s team had to coordinate with the real estate group and various landowners to determine the best running line which would be constructible. Multiple jack and bores, horizontal directional drills, and convenience bores were designed to get through road crossings, creek crossings, RR crossings, and a steep terrain. To aid in designing the bores and pipeline route, Milhouse obtained geotechnical reports and SUE Level A investigations to reduce the risk of surprises in the field during construction. Milhouse identified and assisted in the coordination between AGL and GDOT to ensure two large overlapping projects scopes would not impact the other’s schedule.
